Now that the kiddos are out of school, I know many of us are trying to figure out summer activities to keep them busy without breaking the bank (cause we all know summer camps can add up!!!)
Here are a few ways to make it a fun and memorable summer and easy on your wallet.

- Park adventures, there are a ton of city parks all around town. But to make it more exciting for my kids, I have been stretching past just our usual parks around our neighborhoods. Driving out a little further to check out new parks they haven’t been to makes it a little more exciting, and the anticipation of driving to the new park location makes it more fun.
- Free movie and concert nights: Many cities, because of the warmer nights, host movie or concert nights, and many are free or cost near nothing. It can be fun to get the entire family out to dance and jump around.
- Explore local city downtowns! I recently got this idea while doing a drive through my local city. Sometimes the big city’s downtown area can be so exciting and appealing. But, the local downtown, especially if they are old cities, has so much more character and excitement to them. It would be fun to visit local city restaurants or boutiques and learn about history.
- Visit your local library and check out some fun new books or movies. The local library can be so underrated, but they have fun activities or things to keep both you as the parent and your kiddos busy all summer long.
Summer activity ideas are endless. However, making it something memorable is what matters most.
