As so many parents are aware, the flu and just the general cold season this year have hit so many kids a lot harder than usual. With so many children being affected by RSV this year, I have had to get ahead to protect my kids and the entire family. So here are a few of my go-to’s to help combat the pesky seasonal colds.

- I am staying stocked up on the essentials! You never know when a child will be hit with sickness and must be out of school for some reason. So I keep one of my favorite medicines on hand, like Delsym, elderberry, and their daily gummy vitamins.
- Natural remedies always come to the rescue to keep their immune system in tip-top shape! My absolute favorite combination is a ginger, lemon, and honey mixture.
- Limiting contact once I started to sense any of the kids coming down with something, it can be so hard pulling the kiddos from school and having them miss days on days of school. But the faster you pull them out and treat whatever is hitting their body, the fewer days they will have to miss down the road.

Honestly, no matter how prepared you are, it doesn’t guarantee that your family won’t get hit. Of course, it would be best if you did all you could to prevent it but being mentally prepared is the most crucial part.
