The beginning of the year can get overwhelming; due to the unnecessary pressures, we put on ourselves, trying to hit fitness goals. While fitness goals are great to have, it’s also wise to make sure they are realistic and not to the detriment of your mental health. Here are a few things I am putting at the forefront to help hit those fitness goals for myself this year.
- Set small goals rather than hefty ones. Rather than saying I would like to lose 20 pounds this year, set monthly goals. Just bite enough that you chew at a time.
- Have people that can keep you accountable. People who keep you on the course; while keeping your mental and physical health as a priority.
- Understand that every bit counts. You don’t have to do elaborate workouts to be an exercise. A little walk around the corner counts too.
- Mix it up, doesn’t have to be the same old stuff. Try various exercises and classes. Do both in gym workouts and home workouts; see which one works best for you.
- Ease yourself in. Don’t push yourself too hard; Slow but steady always wins the race.
How are you staying on top of your fitness goals?
